The 170-year-old cast-iron structure at Ballyfin, needed purpose-designed bracketry and consideration given to the weight of blinds and facias as well as getting the electrics to operate the blind systems. Concern was raised as to the single glazed building and the moisture levels that existed requiring any natural material to have extra protection applied to prevent mildew and water ingress damaging the fabric. The Grants Technical Team needed to attend site to see first hand the complexities the building presented. Following these onsite investigations, the Grants Technical Team was able to present a finished product specification with project costings.
